Het Geheim van Starsound, a small success
And what a gig it was! Although the Starsound studio was a bit small and not really crowded, also because some bands cancelled, we had a nice 20 minutes of playing our own music, and two other pretty good bands to listen to. We had a fun evening. F.O.D. sounded loud but good, and we had the chance to try out some new songs, and we think they were a success. Another new thing we tried out and haven't anounced to you guys yet: our new guitarist Tom Diepens! Tom has been rehearsing with the band the last couple of weeks in order to see if he could provide us with some new contributions. So we decided to throw him in the deep end of the pool immediately and let him perform with us at this gig aswel! Unfortunately, we didn't win the band competition this evening (probably because our music was too loud for the small place), but we had fun and we will continue to improve our sound and performance, and hopefully we see you back at the second gig of 2012, which we are hoping to announce soon! Geheim van Starsound
Our first gig of 2012 is a fact! On the 16th of March 2012 we'll be playing at Starsound Studio in Utrecht. It will be a band competition so come show us your support. Furthermore we've written some new material in de past year which we haven't had the chance to let people hear (since we're still finishing up the demo's) so we'll be playing some new songs this evening! On another note: the recently anounced demo's are being worked on as we speak. This past weekend we've recorded some extra percussion and backing vocals for a couple of tracks and we've also redone the bass on all the tracks. We hope to be able to share them with you guys soon! New demo's coming up!
About two weeks ago, we recorded some of our latest songs. We didn't go to an expensive studio with a professional engineer but did it ourselves! For 8 hours, we rented a rehearsal room in SPOD, where we rehearse every week, and we brought all our own stuff in to get record our latest songs. The primary goal of this recording session was to be able to listen how our songs sound and what we can improve, but an additional advantage is that we can also give YOU an idea of how we sound in 2011. The last demo's still date from 2009, but our sound has changed and improved (at least we think so) and it’s time for the world to know! At the moment we’re busy with editing and mastering the songs and applying some final touches, but after that you can expect four recordings of four of our songs: Wanted to be Haunted, Aimed Carefully, She Knows and Homonculus. But off course if you want to hear the songs in their truest form you have to come and see us perform. New shows are being planned, so keep an eye on the website, Facebook, Twitter and whatnot to find out when you can hear these new songs live, and when you can be overwhelmed by the FOD sound again. We're back!
Yes you've read it correctly, after a long time not hearing from us, we're finally back. After a well deserved summer break we've regrouped and restarted our weekly practices sessions and last saturday we played our first gig at a private party in Onder Ons in Delft. As of tonight we've formed a plan for things to come in the upcoming year, a year in which a lot of choices have to be made such as: should we work an album? Or should we just play a lot of gigs and record some demo's? After carefull consideration of all the options we've decided to go for the last option, so in the upcoming months we will try to perfection our setlist and our songs so that in the following months we can book a lot of gigs. Friday: Live at the Trucker!
So as you might have already seen on facebook and such, this Friday we will be playing live at de Trucker, Pijnacker. It's been a while since our last gig so we've got loads of new material and offcourse some old and improved stuff! Last night we put the finishing touches to our setlist during our weekly practice session so come and check it out! Once again: UPDATE!
Well it's been a while (again!) since we've updated the website, but all of that is soon to change! We've got some stuff coming up such as a performance at a band competition in Utrecht called "Het Geheim van Starsound", next to that we also have a pending performance in "De Trucker" in Pijnacker. Once these performances are confirmed they will be included in the Gigs section and you can find more info! Further, as of today we've implemented a better integration of facebook and twitter into our website so that we can start using that! All our gig's and news items will automatically be posted to both Facebook and Twitter so we can keep you informed. Update!
So, it's been a while since we posted anything on the website probably because we've been busy doing other things. There is however still a lot going on these days! Recently we played at the D11TMUSIQ Rocktober Night in Speakers Delft, which was a very big succes and we would like to thank everyone who was there! The next order of business: international release; we're currently in the process of releasing our official King of The Hill EP on the world wide interwebs (e.g. iTunes, Spotify etc.) so if you haven't got a copy yet you will soon be able to download one using one of these programs, if you would still like to have a classic "hardcover" version, that's okay too. Westerpop 2010
At this moment we are preparing ourselves for the performance of next week. After a very nice (and well deserved) vacation the band members are getting together next week to fully prepare our performance for the event next friday! Hereby some of the details; we will be playing from 19:00 till 19:45 on friday August 27th. Make sure you're on time if you want to catch our performance since there is no room for delay. After our performance the other acts will perform (Project MDA, 2nd Place Driver, Kids Never Lie & Kings Crossing) and then at 24:00 the winner of the night will be chosen! Photoshoot
Because our old website wasn't updated when we were working on the new one, you might have missed out on the fact that we went for a photoshoot! The photoshoot took place in Belgium in de midst of February. It was a very cold day, but also a very fun day. We went to an old factory site near Charleroi and there we took some very nice pictures. New website
As of today we have launched our new website! The old website desperately needed a serious upgrade so over the past few months we have been working hard on this new site. We have incorporated some nice features into the site so look around and see what's new! The guestbook has been replaced by the ability to comment on our news items, and we hope it will stay spam-free this time. Although the website is fully functional at this time, we still have to move all our old content, such as our previous performances, into the new site, this will take some time so check back in the next few weeks.
